I'm selling my house and am worried about my mains water supply which I get from my neighbours supply. This was all done privately about 5 years ago because my old lead pipes were bursting and my neighbour offered to help..... To take my supply to my property would cost a great deal and water board will supply only to the main street. My house is in a lane. Can the new purchaser force me to connect my own supply from the street.
I had not mentioned this earlier as I thought everything was alright and no one ever knew about it. Now I realise my mistake.

Is the property in England & Wales?
Did the purchaser retain a surveyor?
    Have contracts been exchanged?
    Has purchase and sale completed?
