hi All, Wondering if anyone has any advice. I purchase a car back in August that the trader had one attempt to repair. This repair has failed and despite asking for my money back they have ignored all calls and emails.
It looks like I'm going to have to take them to court to get a refund, but what is the best approach? the car value was £9995, they then committed to refund £990.30 if i had the car repaired at a specialist, and I paid to get the car back and sent them the invoice which hasn't been refunded by them.
The car needs a new engine at a cost of £5900, so would you?\
1. Go to county court for a full refund of monies owned and maybe claim loss of enjoyment?
2. reduce the claim for a price reduction equivalent to a new engine + £990.30 refund?
3. any other ideas?
Also as the amount of the claim in option 1 would be c£12k with other items added, what would be reasonable legal fees (any recommendation of lawyers?) so that I have a chance of recovering these?
thanks
