  • ABS Tampring to pass MOT

My daughter brought a Mini cooper privately last week but driving it around found a beeping noise keeps going off no ABS light or handbrake light working. RAC report states a major fault with ABS unit and the bulbs have been removed or something else have been done to avoid detection at the MOT testing. She paid £800 the seller has offered£700 refund but not the£800. What should she do take the £700 or hold out for the£800 ?

If it was me I would cut my losses, I understand that to lose money is painful, but the repairs are more than likely to cost more. just my opinion.

I agree take the money. Before reporting I would check risks of retribution.

Take the 700 and go through small claims for the 100 plus your expenses (RAC report etc)?
