Hi , we recently purchased an item online but cancled due to the item taking longer than expected.

The company agreed and sent a refund by mistake due to no transcation taking place . They requested for the fund to be sent back £40.

This was done immediatly on request . A couple months pasts and the company has insisted even though weve given bank statements to prove transaction, that they havnt receieved .

A futher few months past with phone calls and emails and today weve reveievd a solicitor letter requesting payment and interest will be added if not paid.

Its also stated they it may go to court.

Has anyone got any advice ?

Send evidence to solicitor by recorded delivery with explanatory letter. You can prove you paid so really no case to answer. Or am I missing something ?
