Dukes after debt that’s been paid

Hi all, I’m new to this and also bad typing skill, please forgive me in advance. My wife had a attachment of earnings in June 2019 from court which was paid in one month 135.51pounds. in July 2019 However I recived a letter from dukes bailiffs a couple of days ago saying I owed 135.51 now 210.51, I contacted the council who said bailiffs letter should not have been sent out yet and they had no record of debt being paid but admitted the aoe had been set up. She put it on hold for 14 days so I can prove I paid it. We found that my wife’s works had deducted 135pounds although it doesn’t say who too that’s not enough proof for them they say. Now I stress enough as it is so not sure what I should do. Thank you in advance for your help .
