  • Neighbors mess

    Hi

    my neighbours have Created a terrible mess in their garden with old cars they Are taking apart. It's an absolute tip and will no doubt be Reducing the value on my propertY.

    Do I have any rightS or able to make them clean it up?

    First action is to speak to your neighbour's about the problem.

    If the mess creates a health hazard, the Environmental Health Department of your local council can order your neighbours to get rid of any rubbish s if they are breaking the law, and legal action can ensue if they fail to do so.

    The council can also serve a Section 215 Notice,( which refers to section 215 of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990.) when the condition of the land adversely affects the amenity of the area. If this is a rear garden not visible from the street the council might not wish to be involved
