Data protection breach?

I bought a product from my supplier and fitted for my customer. The product was incorrect. So supplier remade. I then refitted.
product was still slightly wrong.
Customer went to supplier without me knowing and asked for money off. The supplier gave him 2 thousand pounds off so he paid for product there and then.
This meant I lost a lot of money on this job.

Is this illegal. Surely the supplier should not be discussing my account with anyone but me.
