  • Moriety Law

About 5 years ago I had a dispute with an energy company about my final bill as it was in excess. Eventually they said they could see the discrepancy and they would look into it. Never heard anything from them again until 12 months later I had Merlingo debt recovery contacted me saying I owed the debt. I was getting letters and text regular and I told them I did not owe the debt. It went quiet for a while the Morierty Law started sending letters and texts regular. Long story short it went to court and I now have a ccj.

I have heard nothing for nearly 12 months again now they have started with the letters again stating I am now in breach of court. I am 61 and disabled this is making me ill as I do not owe the debt and don’t feel I should pay it. Please help !

Unfortunately if someone has a CCJ against you they can enforce the Order by a variety of means. Only by either settling the debt or if you think you don't owe it and can prove that by applying for Set Aside will it go away. The worst you can do is ignore it.

Do you know who has the CCJ and how much it is for?
