  • Harassment from an ex landlord

Not sure where I stand with this , I ended my tenancy on the 28/11/2019 giving correct notice , I did owe £880 at the end of the tenancy due to the house being in better condition than when I moved in with a new kitchen and new carpets throughout the landlord on inspection that he would would except £700 unfortunately due to financial circumstances I was unable to pay in full so arrange instalments but he wanted then the full amount of £880.Ive managed to pay the majority but still owe £140 but atm I’m nit in a position to pay so now I’m getting messages with threats of coming to my work place he has now stated he is taking me to court which I’m happy to do so but still he is threading to come to my place if work.

I also have details of which I have a grievance against him , tenancy with a monthly payment of £400 but at the time stated it was a misprint and I paid him £440 each month and also no gas safety check done for 18 months prior to moving out which was the main reason for moving.

Im not objecting to paying but it’s the threats of coming to my work place that’s worrying me when I’ve said I would go to court to make a payment agreement

Please explain that with the house being in better condition you owed £880

I wondered about that. If your workplace is worth anything he'll be sent packing but probably all bluster.

Was there a deposit? Was it in a scheme? Did this money get released to the landlord at the end of the tenancy?
