Please can someone help me? Yesterday I was on a telephone hearing in Kingston County Court where an employment judge heard an application brought by the Defendant (I am Claimant) to strike out my £6k claim. They had brought a previous application which they lost and there was an Order that said I submit my Amended Particulars and he submit a defence. I submitted my amended particulars but they ignored the order and won the application yesterday and the hearing was very strange - I have requested a transcript. I have been ordered to pay over £26,500 in costs when I am a LiP and he was represented by a Barrister and two lawyers with no schedule of costs etc. This was for an application out of my £6k claim. Is there a fixed costs sum that I can work with on this sort of issue please as I am desperate? The Judge told me to get legal representation and go to a costs hearing if I don't agree the sum of over £26,500k!!! But I don't have any money to do that. Thank you

If this was a small claim allocated to the small claims track, then the Court will have been constrained by CPR 27.14(2)(g) and would have had to make a finding that your conduct was unreasonable to make a costs order.
What is not clear is what the actual claim was for, what were the issues, what did the judge actually say etc.I work for Roach Pittis Solicitors.
