Why do some sites state that a Community resolution order (CRO) is a caution and some don’t? In August on my way to work I found a small sum of money on the floor of the shopping centre where I worked. One month later I was contacted by the police and to cut a long story short received a CRO for theft from finding! Strangely enough I am currently training to be a police officer and this all happened one month before my training was due to start. I am now facing a case of gross misconduct, and it’s looking highly likely that I will be dismissed without notice two months into my training. Even though by all accounts a CRO is not a caution or a conviction. All I can say is to be careful about accepting a CRO.

Thank you for your response, no the gross misconduct is for discreditable conduct, the CRO came during my first month of training. I’ve never been in trouble with the police before this and didn’t even know that finding money was even a crime, I’m 19 years of age. Whole world is falling apart and feels harder in the current climate.
