Two years ago I went from a coordinator up to a supervisor role.
After 18 months it became clear the things I was promised and what I would be doing would never materialise resulting in me taking this to HR as a result they put my role back to being to a coordinator and the supervisor role was effectively made redundant.
For me it was meant to start my career on the management path I was sad that it never progressed.
I would like to think that it was a learning curve for my employer and now I see others being given those chances and also having the same promises my that were made to me fulfilled.
Having been with my employer for 10 years and even after this event I’m still wanting to progress and get more knowledge and experience I have asked for this all along but it’s like I’m stood ina room screaming and no one hears me.
Part of me wonders whether this was professional suicide because I dared to stand up and challenge but I’m at a stage where another employer has approached me and asked me to work for them giving me the opportunities I would like.
What advice do you have?
