I parked ad there car part but i put PP i instead of P in. So I do have a ticket. But this was 6th October and they didn’t send the parking notice till 30th October. This was the car park used by many businesses. So am I right In saying they should have put a parking notice on my car and sent the follow up notice within 14 days. As neither was done as I right to ask for this to be cancelled as it’s not legal

Edit so that the identity of the driver cannot be inferred. Use "the driver......." etc. The driver parked, the keeper received the NTK and is handling from now on.

They don't have to put a ticket on the the car but if they don't then the notice to keeper has to be delivered within 14 days. With a ticket on the windscreen then they have 56 days.

    so send:

    Dear Sirs,

I have just received your Notice to Keeper xxxxx for vehicle VRM xxxx

You have failed to comply with the requirements of Schedule 4 of The Protection Of Freedoms Act 2012 namely, but not limited to, failing to deliver the notice within the relevant period of 14 days as prescribed by section 9 (4) of the Act. You cannot, therefore, transfer liability for the alleged charge from the driver at the time to me, the keeper.

There is no legal requirement to name the driver at the time and I will not be doing so.

Any further communication with me on this matter, apart from confirmation of no further action and my details being removed from your records, will be considered vexatious and harassment. This includes communication from any Debt Collection companies you care to instruct.

    Yours etc

Post up the Notice to Keeper you received, suitably redacted of identifying details
