Can anybody talk me through how to do completions

No it's to do with conveyancing. After exchange the steps to take to complete the purchase of a property

[des8]

On exchange deposit money paid to seller and completion date & contract become legally binding.
On completion day the full purchase price is transferred to the Seller.

Simple.
