  • Checkatrade is a rip off

I went on checkatrade to find a local builder and checkatrade recommended a cowboy, I'm now out of pocket and will have to redo the work. Can I take checkatrade to court?

Have you tried their complaints procedure yet? https://www.checkatrade.com/Consumer/Complaints.aspx.

check a trade and the others all only want the referring commissions (like we look after your bills they get commissions (which if you did yourself through some cash back sites)) they advertise for builders etc to use them on their site so called accreditation is suspect as many of us find out when cowboys turn up when not asked and state we can do that for, even immediately suggest they under cut the cost (in my case they were quoting last December for a job which had been completed and they could see it) CANCERS and others promise to do a job for so much (never want to give insurance etc guarantees) , job goes wrong the trade site make note end of as then it is lucky if you get any further responses === you use but take a big chance although not all are cowboys but many do a job and never come back to do any other one you speak to them about.

Trouble this country not shop keepers but call centre commission agents like in poor world countries/
