My vehicle was clamped this morning out of the blue (or so it seemed).
I discovered that I had apparently committed a parking office on the 4th March 2020 and since I had not responded to the letters sent to my address they decided as a last resort to get a company to clamp my vehicle against a £513 fine. Or two the vehicle away. I paid the £513 as I need to use my car.
I then discovered Lewisham Council had been sending the correspondence to the wrong address hence why I was unaware of the penalty. (There was no PCN on the windscreen when I returned to my car).
I have a receipt from RINGO to prove that I did not commit a parking offence in the first place.
The reason they were sending the mail to the wrong address was because the DVLA has registered by vehicle against the wrong address. DVLA told me this was the fault/responsibility of the seller of the vehicle.
Can anyone help me with what I should do ?
I have complained to Lewisham and sent them the evidence and receipt from RINGO.
