  • defaulted for a voluntary termination

I have recently discovered whilst applying for a remortgage that Santander have placed a default on my credit report for a voluntary termination of a PCP that happened 13 months ago. The voluntary termination was granted by santander and a payment agreement for the remaining liabilty was agreed and a payment has never been missed. As far as i'm aware it is our legal right under the consumer credit act 1974 that we can terminate a contract and this will not effect our credit score, Also when researched a default is defined as missed payments which is something I have never done! Santander are insisting that i have to wait 8 weeks for them to investigate this and have avoided escalating this upon my request to speak to a senior manager to address this situation sooner. Is there anything I can do to get this situation delt with sooner or anyone out there that can help with this to make them pull their finger out as this is now the second time ive had to appeal against this default

you have an agreement to reduce payments (default) they are correct to report default history for up to 6 years or 5 years Scotland as a true record by regulations!

complaints allows the 60 days to respond with a final response. after which if necessary you can report to FOS as long as a final has been received and not satisfied, in your case a action by you has taken place and defaulted on repayments and an entry on CRS report , so cannot see it getting removed as it is true record of event!?
