Hi, I have recently changed an out of date V5 (which I know is my fault) to receive this letter of claim for parking in a hospital car park. I have discussed with DCB Legal that I am not aware of all of these parking charges and asked where the additional charges have come from. They refused to post me a breakdown of charges and only said they would offer an 8 month instalment plan of the £1430. I really cannot afford this, but do not want a CCJ. I have attached the first page of the letter.

There are obviously a few tickets involved here, which may have gone to your old address. Given the sum outstanding then if a CCJ is obtained against you then DCBL will return to enforce the debt which in turn will go up substantially. You need to listen to what the others say about combatting this.

First action is a SAR to the parking company to get all the details. Hopefully this should be in time for your defence.
Next is a letter to the solicitors saying that this is the first you have heard of this alleged debt, which is denied, and you want copies of all the documents that they will be relying on in court in order to narrow the issues between you, as expected by the courts. As they are threatening to start a claim against you then they must have these documents to hand and you demand them by return and in any case within 7 days.
As no Notice to Keeper has been received then there can be no liability for you in this matter.
Please explain the additional charges details as costs. As you are well aware then as the keeper I can only be held liable for the cost of the original PCN, section 4 (5) of Schedule 4 of The Protection of Freedoms Act 2012.
