Hi, My problems started when a new neighbour moved in 18 months ago.I have lived at my current address for 40 years firstly being a council tenant for 26 years and then houses were bought by an housing association 14 years ago.The problem is we have a shared access/path to both houses. Many years ago we put in our own driveway through our garden but still use the path as we locked the driveway gates when not using the car. My new neighbour doesn't want us using the path so has asked the housing association for the path to be hers which they have now said that they can't find the original deeds so she can have the path and we are not able to use it.My question is are they allowed to do this? Also she has put 10 Leylandii Conifers 2 foot apart along the back fence which seperates our garden from hers and the housing association are saying she can grow these as high as she wants as there is no limit is this true?

Easy bit first:
If the hedge is over 2 metres tall and affects your enjoyment of your home or garden you can complain to the council who will make a ruling.
Regarding the access problem your first port of call is to examine the land registry files.
They can be accessed here at a cost of £3 per file + £3 per plan https://www.gov.uk/search-property-i...-land-registry
