Definitely nothing from Allay or anyone representing them in relation to court action. Anxious he’s going to call again when I’m in. The timing is worrying.

He cannot do anything. Speak to him on the doorstep, don .allow him in. Ask him where his Court Order is - he doesn't have one. Then I would tell him to do one as you may report him for harrasment as he has not provided anything to prove you owe. Him looking at your car is proof of him trying to scare you. You could also threaten to ring the Police as he is misrepresenting his powers.

Remember a Debt Collector may only ask you to pay something, next doors cat has more powers.

I’ve had a letter through today from the High Court Enforcement Group in respect of Allay Claims PPI I failed to pay for £470.
Could you tell us a bit more about the £470 that Allay apparently claim you owe them?

Also, and importantly, can you confirm thay Allay haven't taken you to court and obtained a County Court judgment in respect of the 'debt'?

Subject to the above we might be able to ask the regulator to intervene.

I totally agree. According to their website High Court Enforcement Group only do enforcements (rather then debt collecting) Homepage – High Court Enforcement Group (hcegroup.co.uk)

But obviously the 2 letters the OP has posted up don't mention any judgment.

Have you heard of them before?

HCE Group is a multi office organisation who came to prominence when they purchased the Sheriff's Office - we saw them first on BBC1. In my view they have gone downhill a bit over the last 2 years or so usually following some of the nefarious goings on with DCBL. They now have Agents who cover the whole country.

                  Hi yes of course,

The money they are chasing is owed to Allay in respect of 2 ppi claim feesu signed up to online and then I failed to pay.

At the time I was hard up and the money was better used elsewhere. I should have paid I know, now I’m here. I was reluctant because I did all of the chasing and liaising and couldn’t appreciate what they’d actually done to recover the claim.

There definitely hasn’t been any court action and there is nothing on my credit file.

I heard absolutely nothing from allay in over 12 months then received a letter from HCE in September (copied here) and then they visited my home without warning yesterday and delivered the second letter.

Today I’ve received a text message from them saying I have failed to respond to their communication attempts and to call them to avoid further action. I’ll attach screenshot.

I’m ready for a fight if necessary and if it progresses to court action I’ll pay I guess as I don’t want to go down that rabbit hole and end up in a nightmare.

Thanks for your help you’ve really put my mind at rest for now.

Ok. You could fight their debt collection methods but ultimately it sounds like you're liable to pay their fee. They could well take you to court.

You could offer them a token £100 or something to settle?
