  • Non fault car accident

After advice, lady smashed into me whilst I was parked on double yellow lines waiting (sat in car) due to Google redirecting me to a claim firm other than my insurance I have unknowingly made a claim with them.
I do not remember in my initial phone calls admitting that I was parked on yellow lines at time of accident due to being in shock, I have since filled my accident report in and stated on the accident diagram where I was parked at time of impact, the claim is now underway against the other party.
Is my suspected error going to void my claim and be deemed as fraudulent ?

Well it is not necessarily illegal to stop on double yellow lines, but the third party insurers will probably claim contributory negligence by you and try and reduce your compensation.
The brief details you give make it impossible to give a more detailed assessment

Don't forget to inform your insurers of the incident anyway

I've signed rental agreement, as had hire car, accident report, my car has been repaired & returned to me now and the firm is now trying to recoup costs from her insurance.
When I think back to first phone call on claims line I don't remember mentioning being on yellow lines.

Well I hope for you the at fault insurers accept the cost of the hire car, because as you signed for it you could be liable for the cost.

Doesn't matter particularly what you told the claims company, the important matter is what actually happened, where and why you stopped (if on yellows why?) why the other driver hit you (was she unsighted ,,if so was she travelling too fast) road conditions/visibility/lights on/heavy, light or no other traffic

There are so many unknowns it is impossible to give you any indications of how it might go.

She was driving towards me up a wide road, looking down at something in her car and hit my drivers side, no other traffic involved.
I ended up with claims firm as googled my insurance number and it automatically gave me a claims firm unbeknown to me
              .
I thought I had spoke to my insurance and made a claim, as I sorted whilst in shock awaiting recovery, week down the line discovered not the insurance.
Entirely stupid mistake but when I spoke to my insurance they said its happened to lots of people they pay Google to list there number first on search.
