  • Escalating fine but car was registered at old address

    Hello,
I have been getting fines sent to a previous address I lived at 2 years ago, and although the debt collectors now have my correct address due to me advising them , the debts have gone up quite considerably.
i sent my log book by recorded delivery in Feb and had it signed for by DVLA. I have called them half a dozen times and they say they can see rec delivery but they still haven’t changed my address. Meanwhile, fines have been escalating as a result of me not realising I’ve been sent them. The bailiffs now have my correct address and I even signed a legal document to advise Northamptonshire Police this was the case but have heard nothing aside from bailiff letters.
Can anyone help on my rights as DVLA are still not doing anything to change address either.

Now it is with Bailiffs they have 12 months in which to collect payment. You can however submit an Out of Time application to the Traffic Enforcement Centre which if accepted may see any tickets cancelled or rolled back to their original level. You could go to Pepipoo to find out how to do this but they usually suggest you ask user Herbie, to save you doing this I have listed her website where you can ask her direct for help.
