I am awaiting finance company to get back to me regarding collection of my car, which they said would be within a week or two. Can they delay things so they can get another payment out of me? My payments are the 28th of the month

If you have VTed then there us no contract so there should be no collection. Cancel dd to be on the safe side

Of course they would say that. There is no longer a contract in existence so they should no longer be trying to collect money from your bank.

perhaps R0b would comment, he has more experience

Suggest you read the VT Guide, link below. If I remember, there's an FAQ on this but short answer is no they can't force you to keep it going until collected.

            Hi Rob,

Could you please guide me in the right direction My Father has received an over due debt recovery letter from VW Financial services for excess mileage. They are saying he owes £5027.28. However its my understanding that under the fair wear and tear terms excess millage cant be charged for?
The car was 50% through its contract and they were happy to voluntary terminate the contract with no extra charges or damage costs other than Mileage.

Just so you know we didn't sign any documents or agree to anything when the car was collected as I read on here dont sign any paperwork!

What should I send back to the debt recovery people?

            Any help greatly appreciated.

            Regards

            Kevin
