I received a p800 from HM revenue and customs, within the letter it was explained I over paid tax by £172.88 and was due it back, great I thought, I've never had a tax rebate before, I wasn't expecting it nor did I seek one, the letter indacted they would send the cheque to "FLYE OFFICE SERVICE BUREAU" within 14 days, I didn't think anything of it as over never had a rebate before.
Today I received a letter from Clyde office service bureau with my check, only my check is only 110.64 and not the 172.88, the letter states they have deducted a fee for my case. The thing is I've never asked FOSB to represent me in any case, why didn't HMRC just send the check to me, why are FSOB taking a cut that culculates to 36%?
Is this normal practise?
