A removal company gave us a quote for a house move, which we accepted. No volume was in the quote. Although we did not add any items to the house after the quote, once the company had collected our goods and put them into storage that said the volume was more than they had quoted on. They now have sent me an invoice and want to be paid 20% more, and I assume that they won't deliver our things until we make the payment in full. Their contract says the price will increase if there is more to move than they quoted on, but as no volume was quoted, how is this possible? What actions can I take? Thanks in advance

All ways get a quote in writing, verbal is ok until you have this problem, this applies to any transaction, as a lesson Granddaughter needed work done by a builder, he quoted her a price, she typed the invoice, he signed, he underestimated, a result he had to compleat at his expense.

Originally posted by Archie.2 View PostDes that was years ago. The contract was between Granddaughter and builder, She is employed as office Manager, Morgage advisor, and so knows the pitfalls when employing a third party, as always recommended, get it in writing, then there are no disputes after.
