  • Car park fine

I received a letter regarding a car park fine which occurred last year in December. I never knew I had a car park fine as I had already moved from my old address. I did send a letter to the DVLA to change my address within 2 weeks of moving out of my old address.

The car park fine was £60 initially but is now £160 since it has been passed onto a legal company. I sent a request for SAR about me and my car but the stuff which they sent through doesn’t say anything about my car and my old address.

What should I do next? I don’t want to pay the £160 when I never even had the chance to pay the initial £60.

Did you send a SAR to the parking company rather than the legal company and did you tell them your old address? If it was the parking company then complain that they haven't sent everything and copy the ICO.

It's not a fine, it's an invoice for an alleged breach of conditions

As well as telling the DVLA about your driving licence did you also update the V5 registration document?

      Hi There,
Thanks for the reply really appreciate it. I haven't received any letter from car parking company, only letter which I have received is from legal company bw legal, yes I did mention about my old address on the SAR letter (What is ICO?)

Yeah I did change my V5 within that 2 weeks of moving out of my old address.

So you should SAR the parking company. ICO = information co misioners office. To complain if you don't get a response to a SAR, or an incomplete response.

The solicitor probably doesn't have all the paperwork.

Is the date on your V5 before the date of the alleged breach?
