Hello. Hoping very much that someone here might be able to help please. On 30th June Thames Water repaired a leak in the road outside our house. The resultant blowback blew the contents of the pipes outside and the contents of our water softener into every pipe, valve and tap in our home. For a week we were left with one properly functioning cold water tap. A family of four. In a pandemic. Thames Water have verbally accepted responsibility and agreed to make good the damage they have done. They are doing nothing except push us from department to department. 7 weeks and over 20 phone calls to/from them later, we still have an ensuite bath and shower that can't be used at all, a huge hole in our downstairs bathroom wall where Thames water subcontractors took off tiles to repair shower, a flower bed irrigation system that does not now have enough water pressure to work and a broken water softener that needs replacing and installing. We have just written our second email of complaint to thames water, (the first on 31st July.) I know that we can go to CCW and ultimately Ofwat. What I'd really like to know is where we stand legally here? Surely Thames Water are obligated to repair the damage they have done within a reasonable period? Please help!

You say you have telephoned them but have you actually written to them listing your concerns/problems? If you getting nowhere with them then try starting at the top and give them say 10/14 days to make good given all the time they have wasted.
