  • High Court Defamation claim

Hello - can anyone help me please? On 6/8 I told a law firm I was away on holiday for 3 weeks but on 12/8 they sent by post (no email) a High Court Claim for Defamation to my home address and my pet sitter opened it for me after I asked her to. I have had no warning at all about it and it has arrived out of the blue. None of it is defamation as everything I have said about this person is true and it appears to be an attempt to stop me from reporting criminal activities to the police etc.

I have now come home early to send off the Acknowledgement of Service to defend it. In the Witness Statement the solicitor has told lies that are easy to prove and he knows they are lies about certain dates. Also they have included two emails I have sent to solicitors who do not represent their client (is this unethical for them to do so?).

The claim doesn't specify how they have come to the amount they are claiming and I have recently obtained a NMO from a County Court to stop their client harassing me and sending me letters.

    I have a few questions!

I will be a LiP as do not have the funds to defend this, it also names a Russian billionaire in his particulars of claim which does trouble me a little as they are connected.

If I were to apply for a Summary Judgement - is this possible? Is there a form I need to fill in? Can I share this claim I have been sent with anyone I want? I don't see how there is a claim when everything he has said I have said to people is absolutely true. How do I tackle this?

Thanks for any help at all!
