  • CCJ is not mine!

here is my story. My name is Craig and recently I have been trying to purchase a house for my family.

I have been failing to find a creditor due to my credit score, I was advised to sign up for CheckMyFile which showed I had a CCJ against me.

The CCj which I knew nothing about up until this time.

So I contacted the court who provided me with the information about the case. To my amazement and the court, it seems the CCJ that was issued by Hatton’s of London via the court ruling,

is not mine! I contacted Hatton’s Of London and they agree they don't have my details on file for the purchase THE DEFENCE OF OUR SKIES DOUBLE SOVEREIGN FOR £1495.00 Now a CCJ has mistakenly been made against me. Now I know I can get this CCJ removed because at the end of the day its not mine! the issue I have is because of a mistake made by Hatton’s of London

or the court I have been put under an enormous amount of pressure and stress because of this matter and wrongly had my financial reputation tarnished.

my question is can I get compensation for this mistake?

    Craig,

Ok two points first, you have a CCJ that needs to go, that can be dealt with by making an application to the Court

Second, damages, if the claim was issued wrongly you may be able to pursue a negligence claim, i stress the word may as its not clear at this stage

Thank you for the quick reply. I just checked the application for removal of the CCJ and it appears I would need to pay a fee of £255.00, why would I need to pay a court fee to remove a CCj that isn't even mine in the first place. it's a small price to pay to remove this ccj from my life but never the less its not my fee.

There is a fee of £100 if by consent then claim back from the culprits.
