SAR and Police

Hi. Can anyone advise me what to do if the Police refuse to release any information following a SAR? I am led to believe they can only refuse if the request is manifestly unfounded or excessive, but I have also been advised that the DPA S43, might offer a way for me to force them to release most of the information I have requested. However, having looked at S43, I cannot see the exact wording or link I need to use. Any advice will be greatly apprciated. Thank You.
