House inheritance

Hi.

recently my uncle passed away and didn’t have a will. Yh e house is now my mother’s through probate and she is looking to sell it and split the money between myself, 3 sisters and herself.

the question is how could I go about living there myself with my partner and 2 children? My girlfriend is also pregnant with a 3rd.

I currently live with my mum and my girlfriend private rents a property for her and her 2 children (from a previous relationship).

i can’t afford a mortgage on the property and would love to live in my uncles home. It’s perfect for myself and my partner, kids and future new born.

So far mum wants to sell and split the money, and as I can’t get a mortgage on it was wondering if there was anything I could do. I know that an option is for my mum to rent the property to me but she’s worried by doing so my siblings would cause a stir as they would want their share of the money.

any advice would be great.

As the house belongs to your mother it is down to her what she does with it.
Although she may have expressed the intention of selling it and splitting the cash five ways, she can always change her mind.
I would say that none of her children should be upset by whatever decision she makes as the house does not belong to them.
If she wishes to rent it to you, then that is her choice and your siblings are not missing out. It is not their house!

I wonder if your mother has taken any advice over what she should do with the house.
Giving the money away to her children might cause tax liabilities down the line for them.
