  • Bathroom fitter walks away

Hi there, any help would be greatly appreciated. I am stuck abroad and have had 2 new bathrooms fitted in my absence. I know! But I could never be there for long enough to be around. the job looks to be a complete bodge.£10k handed over. The finish is appalling. Many of the tiles don’t line up. Uneven grout. Silicon/ grout slapped everywhere not even neat. Recesses have been created and trim used. Mitres are poor. Uneven trim smothered in grout. Lots of issues, too many to discuss at this entry level. Many of the things were pointed out to him while they could have been changed but just ignored. I made a comprehensive list and sent him a ‘direct’ email about the poor level of finish. I asked him to discuss before he returned but he went straight into taking you to court mode. So thankfully he doesnt want to come back. A little more digging and he has attached valves to wall onto spacers of plasterboard attached eventually to wood. He has used grey plasterboard throughout. I mean the tiles cost £3000 or more! I have hundreds of photos now I’ve had it inspected by a friend (not in the trade) and he agrees that we could do better. Grout lines wall to floor are out by 15mm in places. Any help or advice would be appreciated. A 3 week job has taken him 2.5 months all during corona virus
