I agreed to have a few scaffolding poles coming over my land which the builders suggested but they had taken over the whole side entrance for 6 months. How much can I charge them for using my property for their scaffolding. The new house wouldn’t have been able to be built without this but I feel as though they should pay considering how much they are charging for the new house. Any advice would be appreciated.

No all a bit rushed - they knew what they were doing. Feel as I have been manipulated after all they must have many occasions when they do this and that is what annoys me. I am a single 70 year old woman and have not been involved with anything like this and didn’t have the guts to call a halt to it all.

So as they only have your permission to erect their scaffolding on your land, you have the right to withdraw that permission whenever you wish.
So I suggest you contact the boss man, tell him you consider they have had long enough free and so now are going to charge.
I don't know how much inconvenience it causes you, but it is obviously of great importance to them.
How much you can charge I don't know, but start high and negotiate down.(15 years ago I know someone who was paid £500 per week)
If they refuse to pay tell them you are withdrawing permission and they have two days in which to remove their equipment.
Failure to do so and you will apply for an emergency injunction and a costs order against them.
Have a letter written ready to send them* confirming withdrawal of permission and the consequences.
Keep your nerve and good luck
