Old extension on communal land , help

Hi , I’m new here,*our neighbours have built a single storey with pitched roof extension, 12 yrs ago . It was rented and we problems with access to our property even in the back of property and hadn’t truly seen the size of it. Now we have finally have property back. We realise how big and the amount of view And light we have lost . They did get planning permission but without our consent. Plus they have built on the blue communal land. As we are terraced houses we are now blocked from rear access . What can I do ?
