While I was driving from Toronto to Mississauga, the policemen signalled to stop my car. They did a thorough checking and asked me for my insurance slip and driving license. Since I was in a hurry while getting out of the house, I forgot to take both of these. They fined me with a vast amount and asked me to pay the same. Since I did not have sufficient funds on the spot, I was unable to pay the amount. The situation made me very tensed, and I rang up one of my friends who works in the police department. He arrived at the spot within half an hour and took me to a traffic ticket paralegal in Mississauga. They were very accommodating in helping me to deal with this situation, and there was no need for me to pay the entire amount on the spot. Could someone please list out the documents to be kept in the vehicle while driving?

I would imagine that our documentation in the UK is vastly different to that in Canada, try asking closer to home.
