I bought a new tank for my Isuzu Trooper and had a local breakdown company fit it.* I chose them because they had recovered me previously and I noticed he drove an Isuzu so figured he would know about them. He fitted the tank in April and three days ago it dropped off while I was driving! I do not go off-road/green laneing and even if I did this is unacceptable.* He also removed the tank guard claiming it wasn't needed and have since found out that this was bad advice as it is a GUARD. I rang him three days ago and heard nothing so this morning pm'd him on Facebook via his page and finally got a reply. He is returning the guard today but no mention of re-fitting it and no mention of the tank falling off which could have been catastrophic on a motorway/at speed.* I tow horses and had towed two big horses that day (my own) and again it doesn't bear thinking about what could have happened if it had come off then. I rang CA and they said I had to let him put the tank on but I told them I had no confidence in his work and apart from that I needed the tank back on immediately as my horses are in the middle of nowhere and needed tending too daily.* I had another mechanic come out the following day and he re-fitted it with proper nuts and bolts (no nuts on the bolts on one side and the others had fallen off) The bolts are so small and clearly not big enough for the job. I have kept them. Can anyone advise what comeback I have?* I am very concerned that this man is working on peoples cars and potentially risking their lives.
