  • Non molestation order.

Hello, I have just joined the forum. Unfortunately, my son has just received a non molestation order from his ex-girlfriend. He is not interested in challenging this, despite, his feeling extremely annoyed and upset about it, he just wants to get on with his life. My question is does he have to attend the hearing , can he essentially ignore it. It seems so unfair that someone can more or less say what they like about someone and drag them into something they don’t want to be dragged into.

He probably should attend the hearing to participate and attempt to convey his side of the story.
He can ignore, but 'non mols' come in two variants. With Power of Arrest and without. If possible he should aim not to get PoA as this would literally mean he would be arrested upon any breaches whereas without PoA it would have to be brought back before the judge for further action. This doesn't mean he can't get arrested without PoA, it would depend on the nature of the breach.
"Although scalar fields are Lorentz scalars, they may transform nontrivially under other symmetries, such as flavour or isospin. For example, the pion is invariant under the restricted Lorentz group, but is an isospin triplet (meaning it transforms like a three component vector under the SU(2) isospin symmetry). Furthermore, it picks up a negative phase under parity inversion, so it transforms nontrivially under the full Lorentz group; such particles are called pseudoscalar rather than scalar. Most mesons are pseudoscalar particles." (finally explained to a captivated Celestine by Professor Brian Cox on Wednesday 27th June 2012 )
