My extension wall

My next door neighbour has had a lean to roof /outbuilding atattched to my extension wall ....
they openly have said they have no planning permission and there builder was drilling a steel rods into our extension wall to keep the joists up !!!! The builder at the time came running into garden as he thought he had gone through my wall !!!!!!!!
I need Some advise of if this is legal ..!! And surely Id they are having an outbuilding they should of built there own support wall and built it against that ?

Yikes, not good. They should have issued a party wall agreement as well as possible structural engineers and building control involvement as it is unlikely your extension was designed to hold up any part of your neighbours lean-to. First off try speaking to the building control department at the council. Technically what they have done is criminal damage and they need to remove any structures and make good. Ideally you should involve solicitors but the costs could get prohibitive, don't do anything rash if you suspect they don't have much cash.
