  • Ex attempting half of equity although paid zero!🙈

Hi, I’m mid divorce and have my first financial directions hearing on 1st June - one months time. I think it will be by phone. My question is that my ex paid zero into the deposit of our house we bought jointly 2yrs ago (married for 6yrs) and is after half the equity! We have no children together, and I have two. He’s also said on his form E that he earns £18k after tax, but requires £3.5k pcm to live on..£42k?! Firstly, I cannot believe his solicitor has allowed him to write such gobbledygook but *it also seems so unjust that he can even attempt this! So, to be clear he’s paid around £6k in mortgage payments and is now after £170k!! Not a bad return! I’d like to know what the likely outcome will be please. Thanks in anticipation.

I would think that you will keep the house as you have to look after the children..

Thanks for your reply. I cannot afford to keep the house, it is a large 5 bed and my 2 children are late teens.. I feel like I was tricked into using my life savings for his benefit to get the biggest house possible. My solicitor thinks he will get 50% of the profit one my £210,000 deposit has been returned and fees paid
