Shakespeare Martineau chasing a Grant Thornton £758 "DEPT" for Economic Energy

Economic Energy, now in LIQUIDATION, supplied me with energy from April 2017 to April 2018 - I had a DIRECT* DEBIT - whilst I was with them, I OWED NOTHING* when I changed supplier in April 2018 - precisely TWO YEARS LATER I suddenly "OWE" £758 - any advice please

I have received the same letter from Shakespeare Martineau with threats of taking it to court if i do not pay £298.16 from when I was with Economy Energy from 27th October 2017 through to 29th July 2018. I have phoned the number on the letter but doesn't seem to go through to anywhere of significance without the option to leave a voice mail. Although, the exact same boat as yourself as I left owing nothing, yet received monthly emails stating that I still owed them, after proof of moving and paying my monthly payments, these emails stopped. I am glad to see this slimy company have gone down and it must be a ploy to recoup some of the money that they are being sued for.

Send them a "prove it" letter/
