Hello can you help,my *friend has just discovered that her estranged (7-8yr) mum passed away in 2017 it appears a neighbour registered her death, further to this her nan of 100yrs old at the time then changed her will 5 months later naming the same neighbour as her executor and beneficiary nan then passed away last July and it appears that with the exception of £10.000 the neighbours have inheritated the rest of the estate. These neighbours were aware of my friends exsistance and failed to notify her of either deaths and she absolutely believes whilst there would have been minimal value in her mums estate she did have valuable and sentimental possessions, she believes her mum died intestate as we can find no record of probate. Can she request medical cognitive test results for her nan if they were carried out prior to changing the will, medical records for her mum and querie previous wills held for her nan. She is extremely disturbed by these events as her mum had always wanted her ashes to be inturned with my friends dads ashes in the plot that my friend had purchased for them. My friend is an only child and discovering this now is horrendous as probate was granted to this neighbour last September and the nans *house was sold at the same time she wants to know where her mums possessions went and if nan held them how can she claim them back.
