  • Excess mileage charges

    R0b**i*am new to the site and I have just received a large bill for excess mileage charges from RCI finance after I VT’d my Nissan Juke which I am not happy to pay could you pls send me a link for the template letter to send to RCI to fight my case I called them today but they wouldn’t listen to me

      I have received a letter from RCI Finance stating that they are going to send my account to debt collectors for outstanding amount of £592.10 for excess mileage charges and damage after my VT which I disagree with can you please help/advise me what to do next, I’ve tried to call them again but they are adamant that I have to pay

        Make a formal complaint to RCI, they will reject your complaint and then take your complaint about excess mileage charges to the Ombudsman. There has been some success with the excess mileage but the vehicle damage is subjective and dependent on a number of factors such as the age of the vehicle at the time you took hold of it.

        The guide has a sample letter for sending to the Ombudsman. You can also read the thread below where someone else had success with the Ombudsman around excess mileage.

        Alternatively, you can sit on it and invite RCI to issue legal proceedings if they feel they're gentled to those sums, and defend the claim.
