Thinking of changing career direction to Wills and Probate

Hi, I have recently left my post in Local Authority as an Adult Social Care Solicitor and have previously worked within childcare team. I have been qualified for over 10 years. I did my training in a private practice doing predominantly family law, as well as Private Client. I now have 2 young boys and want to change my career direction to Wills and Probate so that I can set up my own business and work my hours around the children. Has anyone done this? Does anyone know of any useful courses or online literature to help me transfer to this area? Online courses will probably be better given the current pandemic. That's a bit of a niche question and unlikely someone on here will have experience of.

Going on a course would be helpful but I wonder whether it's sufficient to set up your own business (freelance, firm or some other type?). Is this course simply a refresher or a complete re-skill?

Might be worth speaking to recruiters and asking how they have helped those transition into different subject areas and if they recommend any courses or training. Is it possible for you to spend a couple of days a week at your local high street practice or other firm and offer to work for free in return for getting some practical experience?

Obviously I'm sure I need not go into the risks of ensuring you have the right indemnity insurance and/or taken the correct legal advice depending on how you intend to set up your business.
