I took my wife to a pub so that she could say goodbye to her sister who was travelling, I parked up but remained in my car with the engine running the whole time. On entering the car park, I did not see any signs regarding parking fees nor did I see any pay machines. I have visited that same pub many times over the past 7 years and never had to pay.
A couple of weeks after I*received a PCN from Britannia Parking for £100, I was advised by a close friend who works for a council parking team to ignore it as it wasn’t backed by any law and they could not enforce the PCN.*
i have since received a letter from BW legal stating that I now owe £160 and that if I do not pay then they would take me to court.*

has anyone had the same experience and what have you done? I’m worried as I do not want any CCJ against my name. TIA*
