  • Charge Removal when mortgage paid and lender no longer contactable

    We are selling a property where the mortgage was paid in 2003.* We have found out that the lenders/solicitors did not remove the charge on the property with the Land Registry (LR).* We do not have any paperwork from this time but our bank does have record of the transaction and is sending us a letter confirming this has been paid.* The bank was Citibank.* Can we ask the LR to remove this ourselves and what Form do we use - we do not have the Form DS1.**
