Hi! I got caught shoplifting at tkmaxx. I know it was a stupid thing but now I'm scared. I got a letter from Rpl, and I want to know what would happen if I ignore the letter. I want to mention that I'm 16 years old and I don't want my family to know.*

Nothing will happen if you ignore the letter, except they will send another!
There is an outside chance they will inform your parents.
They shouldn't, but in the past they have done so under the pretence of safeguarding in case you were being lead astray.
However I haven't heard of them doing so recently
I understand why you would want to keep it secret from your family, but it might be better for you to tell them than risk it coming from RLP.
Yep, they will be disappointed but it wasn't the crime of the century, and hopefully after the initial shock they will support you.
Telling them will save you the worry of them finding out from RLP, who of course are a firm who operate almost outside the law.

Generally I would expect a 16 year old would be living at home with parents, so an easy matter for RLP to write to "the parents of xx"* or guess your parents have the same name as yourself.
Of course if you are not living at home or gave them a different address they won't be able to write to them
