  • Jacobs Enforcement

I found out that Jacobs are chasing me for an outstanding Council Tax bill. I no longer live at the address and am now living abroad for 6 months. I’ve contacted the council and asked them to recall the debt so that I can then pay them directly, I’m waiting for their reply. If the Council refuse to take back the debt, will Jacobs eventually give up and return it to the Council saying they are unable to collect on it?
the CT element is around £500. which I am quite willing to pay - I just don’t want to pay Jacobs., as I wasn’t ignoring the demands, I’d just moved away and didn’t know about it. It was totally my fault that I forgot to inform the Council.

Are the Council & Jacobs aware you are living abroad?

The Council are aware. I mentioned it to Jacobs in the email which they did not reply to.

If they want to ignore then that is there problem as they cannot enforce against you at present and might just be hoping you pay.
