Vt with Northridge finance

Hi , I would need some advice if possible please .Today I paid the remaining balance to reach half of my payments but over the phone the lady whom I spoke to said that after I send a picture of the voluntary termination through their email they will send me a letter of some checks or something like that that I need to sign and send back . From what I've seen here a lot of people say that you don't have to sign anything after sending the vt letter but the lady said that I will need to sign that letter before they will go ahead with the collection of the car or they won't be able to arrange collection.
