    Hi, not to worry.

What did the police say to you?
Did the police ask you to sign anything, or did they give you any documents?

Presumably you gave your name and address to the retailer.
Did they give you any documents?

You mention mental health problems... is your doctor aware of them?
    Are you on medication?

You will get a letter demanding money for the loss caused by what you did.* However there was no loss as they got everything back and the security staff were doing what they were paid to do.

You ignore all the letters, nothing else will happen.

You won't get into trouble by just ignoring the series of letters you will receive.
There are a number of firms who practise what they call "civil recovery"
In fact it is not recovery as nothing has been lost, but they will write a series of legal sounding letters with the aim of scaring the bejeezus out of you in the hope you will pay their extortionate demands.
                  Just ignore these letters.
Do not be tempted to answer them, and eventually they will stop writing to you and find someone else to work on.

As you are feeling so concerned about this and perhaps your other problems perhaps you should consult your GP.
He won't be judgemental (he's heard it all before) and might be able to help you
