I have been banned from M&S forever. * * After spending £200 at their store I detached a card from a cheap necklace and put it into my bag. * *Does this mean a ban for life and will they charge me for securityy expenses?

A ban "forever" would suggest a lifetime ban!
However if you should venture into one of their stores all they can do (if they notice your presence) is request you leave.
If you don't they can then use sufficient reasonable force to eject you.
As long as you are not doing anything wrong it is a simple trespass.

Regarding "security expenses" I think M&S refer these incidents to a firm called Retail Loss Prevention.
From then you can expect to receive a demand* for anything up to £200 for all sorts of invented losses.
This demand (and subsequent letters) may safely be ignored.
